Silver sable Germen sheperds?
I have been looking at these recently as I may be changing my breed (not rehoming my 2 but want something different) I have always loved GSD's but never owned one, I have been looking at this colour for a while but have found that people are claiming this is rare and breeding from dogs this colour but have no health tests etc, so this is clearly another blue staffy ploy (no offence meant)
I want a big boned, straight backed gsd not sure weither im after a long or short haired one yet does anyone have a decent website i can have a look at as i am fed up with looking at good websites but with no mention of any health tests done and just plainly bragging that they own and breed rare gsd's  I researched NI's for 3 years before I got my first one so im not in any rush over this as i may change my mind again (happens a lot  )Any help would be great xx

Can I suggest you have a look at Studyourdog (goole for it). The reason I suggest this is that many of the dogs have details of their hip-scores, epilepsy etc and you could probalby locate a good website by looking there. I know Lancashire has an internationally known GSD breeder and I'm fairly sure it's one of the 7 there on the site.

Well spoke to some GSD people and a silver is not the best colour to have and is coming across as the blue staffy i.e non tested dogs bred for a colour that is not desirable in the ring and just generally bringing the breed down, so im a bit miffed really as they are beautiful, hopefully i'll be able to get one from health tested parents in the future

A friend of mine that breeds GSD's has had silver sables. Her dogs are beautiful, full English type, no wobbly hocks there!
She gave up showing because of the split in the breed.

I don't know who breeds that colour, but I do go on a couple of good GSD forums, if you want their addy's let me know and I will give them to you... They will be very helpful and friendly
