When Finn was a pup the vet told me that I should think about getting him neutered when he started to cock his leg.... So the day he did cock his leg for the first time (and nearly fell over ) i was torn between pride and regret...

Don't they want to cock their legs (ie get more height...) so that they can wee over other dogs' wee?

NB My female dog doesn't cock her leg as such, but she can wee admirably high up on things

Neither of my dogs cock and they are 14 mths old, dont think they ever will

I have a 3 1/2 years old male (obviously) Newfoundland who rarely cocks his leg! He does it sometimes when out on a walk, but the rest of the time (and always at home) he just stands still and wee's, he doesn't even bother to squat!

My lab is almost 10 and he never cocks his leg,just pees on them
