ashtons day out

we took ashton out for breakfast this morning and he absolutly loved it we took him for a walk on the beach and it was so funny as he was scared of the waves and was running away from them hahaha
he met a couple of other dogs and i think he thought they where his mum he saw his mum on thursday and she wouldnt let him anywhere near her which was sad.
he has been fast asleep since we got home so it buggered him walking so much hahaha

Aww bless, what kind of dog is he? It's a shame about his mum, but im sure its just natural for her to want space from him.. god i hope that doesnt happen with abbie and her daughter (5weeks).. :s!!!

My little ones the same about waves!! lol, we used to take him a lot to the seaside along the coast near where we live and he wasn't very ammused at first by any of it but we'd walk along the harder, more solid sand and he was ok after a while with that. The water he's never loved really lol, but we take him to a place called The Wash, not too far from me and he'll gladly walk through the little pools of water and the really wet and muddy parts lmao!

Sad what happened with him mum though, it must be confusing for them, but at least he met some "new friends" while on his walk

My vets wouldnt give my puppies their first jab until they are 9 weeks... and then you have to wait 1 week after their last jab so in all usually they start going out at 12 weeks,

to be honest i really wouldnt take him out, i know you had the best intentions and it may help with his socialisation but his bones are still growing and lots of exersise will mean he is reverting alot of his energy into walks instead of growing..

however as he is not with his littermates.. could you take him down to wherever you go in your arms rather than walking him there, and let people stroke but dont put him down?

yeah when ashton goes out i carry him except this morning and he had a wee walk on the beach ( but didnt really walk lol)
ashton has some needles last week and he is due for some more next week so im not quite sure what they would be ??? ill ask the vet next week.
ashton and his brothers and sisters came from appauling conditions so maybe thats why they had there jabs early ??

It sounds like his secondand last week will be next week then.. so id wait a week after that jab
Yeh it may be that they had their jabs because of the condition they were in. You dont sound like you are doing anything wrong hun but I just think you should wait a little bit longer.. not long to go ..
You want them to put all they can into development.. the stronger they are the better especially because of the past he has had.

thanks so much for that info hun . i feel so bad now he won't be going out for another few weeks now (except to the vets). i want the best for ashton and if keeping him in makes him stronger and healthier then im all for it.
