Just received this email back from the BBC

Thanks for your e-mail regarding 'Pedigree Dogs Exposed' broadcast 19 August.

I understand you feel that the programme was biased and did not report on the
positive aspect of pedigree dogs and the breeders who ensure the health of
their animals.

'Pedigree Dogs Exposed' was carefully researched over the course of two years.
The programme-makers felt that the scale of the health and welfare concerns in
pedigree dogs justified the programme?s emphasis on problems.

The programme?s aim was to provoke debate which it is hoped will lead to
measurable improvements in the health and welfare of pedigree dogs.

We are of course aware that there are breeders out there doing their best for
their breeds and we hope not only that they will continue to be ambassadors for
health within their breeds but that this film will give them the ammunition
they need to encourage everyone within their breed communities to make health
and welfare the number one priority.

I appreciate that this issue is of much importance to you and I have registered
your concerns on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback
that's circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive
Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.

We are committed to developing better links with you, our audience, to further
enhance our understanding of your viewing needs and the audience logs are seen

What did you send them?

Mainly a beef about Dalmatians lol Selfish?? me?? lol

As a Pedigree dog owner I was outraged by the show that was aired last night.
Why can't the BBC start to report on issues in an unbiased and impartial way?
This programe basically only showed the negative side of dog breeds and never
once discussed that their are thousands of excellent breeders out there that
will always health test their breeding stock to try and illiminate the defects
found in certain breeds.

>On a personal note, I am a Dalmatian owner and when the show was talking about
culling puppies that deviate from breed standard a picture of a patched
Dalmatian puppy was shown implying that patched Dalmatians are culled at birth
which is completely wrong!! Dalmatians were shown throughout the programe but
never actually talked about so all along was implying to the viewer that they
are unhealthy when in fact they are quite a healthy breed on the whole.

Good on you Gill. At least you got a reply, who knows it might get the attention of someone in the beeb.
