Re: How far did you travel to buy your dogs?

Indi was about 1 1/2 hours each way. We went to see Mum before she was born and then saw her 2-3 times a week from a week old. We were allowed to take her home at 7 weeks. She travelled home on my lap wrapped in the blanket we had left with the breeder/litter from a week old. She was brilliant and has always travelled well.

Poppy was about 350 miles away from where we lived, but we collected her on our way to Northern Ireland. I sat in one half of the boot of our 4 x 4 on a chair with her, and Indi had the other half. Then later on she laid next to Indi. Indi refused to even look at her! (now she is like her Mum)We had to leave them in the car for an hour alone while we took the ferry crossing and chose to cross from Stranraer so the journey was that short, despite is being miles out of the way.

I am not sure of the milage to get Connie, but it involved an hours drive to Belfast, a 6 hour ferry crossing to Liverpool, then 5 hour drive to Bournemuth, straight back to Liverpool again to get the ferry back to Belfast the same night, then hours drive back home. Hubby left Friday afternoon and got back Sunday morning. However, we bred her so there was never any other option. Bit of a bugger really, as I'd always wanted to keep her!

Re: How far did you travel to buy your dogs?

The bergies were from Portishead, near Bristol, which is about an 8 hour round trip from us - and we went to see Baggio and Gabby three times and Calli twice while they were pups. Evie was from Otley, which is about an hour away, and Quinn was born here - but we did take him to Norwich and then brought him back when his new owners didn't want him.

Re: How far did you travel to buy your dogs?

While I was looking for Pomeranian puppies, most were at least 150 miles away... but they didn't have any females.

I luckily came across Foxy, and I only had to travel 6 miles from my house!

Re: How far did you travel to buy your dogs?

It was only 30 miles to Oscar's breeder. It took 45 mins each way. We went once to visit the litter and see the mum and the next time we went was to pick up my puppy. I personally would have gone 3000000030 miles but I don't drive and my mum didn't want to drive too far. I was very lucky to find such a great breeder quite close.
