Re: Tinned Food

Yes i have to agree Butchers - I am going to start raw but my dogs love butcher- plain and fancy flavours and it suits them too. I will keep it in the background for when we go on holidays abroad. Keep your eyes open as it goes on offer quite a lot too!!

Tinned foods? Anyone?
When my 2 were on tinned I only fed butchers, seems much more natural (if you can say that ) than any other. Both mine prefer gravey to jelly. Or we used the James Wellbeloved pouches

Re: Tinned Food

Actually i forgot about the pouches - i can honestly say the dogs do prefer anymake of pouch to the tinned. It must be nicer as its fresher? That just goes to show you fresher(raw) is the way forward. The raw diet is much more interesting for you and the dogs too.

Re: Tinned Food

My pups have a small amount of winalot puppy mixed in with their dried food. They have redmills racing greyhound food which is also reccomended for puppies it has the same contents as any other complete puppy food. I did check before I used it for them. I also checked with the manufacturers. They also have fres cooked chicken and also boiled rice which they love and sometimes pasts. They also like having a small amount of natural yoghurt mixed into their food

As long as you practice good hygene, raw feeding is perfectly safe. I wouldn't want my dog treading shite through the house, raw fed or not though, to be honest, that is just rank.

As for a vet preferring any other method of feeding than raw. That suprises me not. Sadly, vet's do not know everything, as I increasingly find out.
No one want there dog walking shat in the house but im afraid its something you dont have control of, when they have been playin in the yard you dont know where they step!

Im not being rude alan but i will stick with the vets advice thanks, they dont train all them years to know nothing about nutrition, tinned meat is suiting cassie she has had a good health check and the vet said she is perfect, i did explain a little to him what i had read on the internet and he said the problem is ya can read anything on the internet doesnt mean its correct
