well this is what happend my aprents went out and me and luna were just lieing down going to sleep me on the sofa and luna lieing next to me on the floor it was all quiet and all i heard was this great big dark bark and it was luna she kept staring at the living room door and growling she would walk towards it and back then walk away and growl then back and she done this for about 15 minutes, this isnt the first time neigther she has done it on several other occasions but only to that door, but when she first arrived into the house she sat in the middle of the room and kept moving her head really quickly to each corner or the living room. She only use to bark when someone knocked the door or it was the postman, its not like her other bark either it is much more deeper.
any suggestions on why she does this
i dont mind but a little bit scary after a little while

my old girl and ethel are the only 2 that ave done this on accations looking over to my front door which is also the bottom of my stairs...they did it in the year....that end of the room turnt sooo cold...my son has neva shifted so quick ova to me in all his life pmsl.

Oscar will occasionally bark at nothing like the corner of a room .... our house was built on the site of a factory where someone died as well -- spppoooookkkkyyyy

My husband freaks out when Oscar does it and i casually say 'stop barking at the ghosty'

That is weird, my friends dogs used to move their heads accross the room, in sync, like someone was walking across it! Creepy! :P

mines done that, like their watching someone and my old girl has even greeted something, wiggling her tail and snorting lol, scaryyy

Really? some times my dogs bark to the wall for no reason. maybe they see ghosts....

By skimming through this thread I have confirmed that dogs can see what humans can't. Maybe get somebody in to do a scan in your backyard, or a spiritual person. I was watching some shows where they could sense the negativity in the air and etc. Hope I could help. Good luck getting your problem solved.
