Red face Eating poo

Does your dog eat their own poo? Oscar was playing the garden and I noticed something in his mouth. In closer inspection, I could see it was his poo. I ran inside to grab a bag and by the time I got back, it was gone. Yuck!

Some dogs do, it's normal, and poo is actually good for them (their own that is, not others). It's full of good (and bad), bacteria.

Oscar should grow out of it, but you can also make sure you pick up straight after he's done his biz.

Normally it's a sign that they need more bacteria in their diet, so some doggy probiotics would be good.

Thank you for the advice.

I'm going out later with my rubber gloves and bags to check if there's any more poo lurking around.... (usually I'm pretty on-the-ball as our garden isn;t huge)

Re: Eating poo

Toby hasn't eaten his poo yet He doesn't seem interested.

The cat litter box is exciting though. But it's one of those ones with covers, so he can't get at anything.
