Re: Has anyone seen this site before

It's as I said in a previous post. Buy one, get one killed free!

For every pedigree puppy that is brought, one will die in a rescue home. It is extremely sad, but true.

This is why I try to rescue wherever possible. I am however, as guilty as the next person of buying a pedigree puppy, but at least now I realise, that even pedigree dogs end up in rescue centres through no fault of their own.

We had our names down with several GSD rescue centres before buying Luika. By rehoming two cats, we really narrowed down our chance of rehoming, since they had to be cat friendly. After 4 months of waiting however, we eventually brought Luika. Rearing a puppy with cats is far easier.

Once Luika is a little older however, we plan to rescue. Is that justification enough? I am not sure!

Re: Has anyone seen this site before

its awful isnt it poor dogs,

I couldnt rescue a dog from my local shelter as I rent my house and they said that it was to unstable an environment (as we could move away to somewhere that didnt allow dogs, but that can be said for anyone really) even though we have lived here for almost 5 years, so we had to buy our dogs from a breeder,

there are so many rules and regulations that its makes it almost impossible to rescue sometimes I know there has to be rules to ensure the dogs safety but sometimes they go to far with them.

Re: Has anyone seen this site before

I also think that if there were stricter regulations to breeding and people were educated regarding owning a dog there would be far less dogs in rescue anyhow.

Although this in the meantime does not help the poor dogs that are in their current situation through no fault of their own.

Re: Has anyone seen this site before

And this is why I can go off on one when people breed willy nilly Adding to this is irrisponsible and people should think VERY carefully before breeding.
Rescue centres are getting very strict in the rules of adopting a dog - I have heard so many people say they wanted to adopt and were turned down for one reason or another - mostly silly things - a dog would have had a loving caring home forever!!!!
