Re: Pet Insurance
I have taken the argos insureance (gold) also on my youngest dog, having been badly bitten by another insurer the argos one looked pretty OK to me, but having said that I have (fortunately) not had to make a claim so cannot really comment on how good they actually are.
regards sue Edited OMG I have just noticed one thing that puts me off terribly - I am off to check my policy |

Re: Pet Insurance
Continued, from my email above, It is actually the platium cover that I have (thank God) be aware that the gold only covers the pet for one year per illness!!!!! With my 4 year old that I just lost her vet bills for the AI during her life was £11,000
RE CHECK the policy and be double sure it is adequate for your needs. regards Sue |

Re: Pet Insurance
Treatment period is my area of concern - being just twelve moths, If your pet is unfortunate enough to have a long term illness you are only covered for one year, for that illness. I would only even have a 'for life' policy (now having been badly burnt)

I have taken out the platininum insurance with argos as it is underwritten by axa (who also run Sainsbury's pet care) and are deemed to be one of the best after Kennel Club. The other levels are very limited but platinum is unlimited with no time restriction either. (Some companies give unlimited within a year.) They also offer a monthly direct debit service, free of charge and a 5% discount for internet joining. They look to be the best deal - but touch wood - i haven't had to make a claim yet!

Re: Pet Insurance
I am very very careful now with insurance following my expensive mistake!!!
But funnily I have my eldest dog with AXA - his renewal has just come in and it has gone up almost £100. The pupster is like I said above with Agros Platinum, have to agree with what you have said these two companies 'appear' to be the real mc coy! Just hopiong I don't have to make a claim, but nice to think that you have the security their should the worse happen. regards sue |

Re: Pet Insurance
Hi I am with Tesco and i pay £44.42 (per month) for 2 dogs (1 x Staffie and 1 x DDB). This is for the extra cover which covers unlimited time up to £4000 vet bills.
I have never had to claim thank god, but i do have Tesco home insurance and when i had to claim on that they were brilliant so feel quite confident with them. Do you think this is a good price considering the breeds I have? Becky |
