Re: Pet Insurance

BTW - I have only just read the bit where they will pay a staggering £4k a month! I assumed as I browsed it - to be an annual figure!

WOW!

I certainly did find a good deal!

Hopefully I never need to use it!

In a nutshell YES - and within so many days as per the t&C's,. That was my downfall, 5 months of tripping to the vets, each visit costing between £10 and £40 - no diagnosis ever being made, then after 7 months and two ops costing £2700 and £900 - I put in a claim!! dispite having the dog insured for over 2 years with E & L - they would not pay a penny - and they were within their rights, BECAUSE, I had not informed them in the period that my dog was being treated.
The final cost to us was over £11,000
so basically the £6000 per annum vet bills they say they pay is worth diddly squat.
regards
sue

Re: Pet Insurance

Hi

I just got a Cairn terrier pup. I was advised by several people to take out PetPlan insurance. I asked my vet who although reluctant to tell me a particular company - when I said I was thinking of the above he said they were good. They cover the dog for a lifetime of illness and some vets seem to have a direct contract with them and makes it easier for claims. Although they are a bit more expensive than some other companies - in past experience I think you get what you pay for. I am £24 per month for a cairn terrier you get the first two months free.

Re: Pet Insurance

I just bought Pet Insurance from More Than.

But I have no experience with insurance and stuff lol, I'm only 19! My mum helped out.

I'm paying £11.99 a month for...

Veterinary Fees - £7000.00

Missing, stolen or accidental Death to your pet - £600.00

Holiday Cover in Europe - £1250.00

I'm not good at this stuff, I'm hoping not to need it anyway!

Re: Pet Insurance

Just upgraded my pet insurance (Argos) from Gold to Platinum:

Main difference was Treatment peroid,
Gold = 12 months
Platinum = no limit

Re: Pet Insurance

I use direct line pet insurance and i have to say they've been quite good.. abs had to have an operation to remove tumor and splene and they covered it all..
however its not good that they dont cover any diagnostic procedures (scans etc) and NOTHING to do with pregnancy
