I was away walking with OH today and we met another collie. Maisie ran up to him an she was the size of a chihuahua next to him. I cant understand why she is soooo tiny unless she is a cross but i very much doubt it. Did i feed her the wrong food when she was growing up or do u think its down to her being soo ill when i got her its affected her body soooooo much

Males are always bigger than females, and looking at her photo on your sig she is smooth coated which would make her appear smaller than the medium or long coated variety. My friend has got 2 farm bred border collies that are much smaller than the show type ones.

I think I have the smallest JRT in the world as the only time we ever meet one as small as her it is a pup.

My trainer has a cocker paniel sized border collie, i've seen a few small bc's they arn't that unusal

Great things come in small packages i am always getting told bobby is very small for westie bothered me at first thought i was doing something wrong ,vet says he is doing great just be smaller westie love him

Border Collies used to come in several sizes due to the different jobs and the terrain they worked over.

Look at the old photos of Shetland Sheepdogs, they look more like small Border Collies than modern day Shelties

Since you didn't see parents and she is a farm collie you don't really know whats in her "make up"
However since she is a small girl, it will be so easy to fit another one in when you get your own place!
Bet she will be a little speed demon when she does agility!



My bf's dad has a farm collie and she is huge and bigger than my GSD, height and waist line. She is way over 30KG, i wouldn't be surprised if she was 40KG.

We say she is half collie, half cow lol

She prolly is'nt that small , i have mother and son and he towers above his mum as a male collie should be, today they seem to be breeding smaller and smaller collies if things keep going we will have collies the size of shelties , these dogs were bred to cover ground cant do that with short legs
