What to look out in a good dog boarder/sitter? Beware
Hi all,
Just wanted to give you an insight into dog boarders. I am a home dog boarder so I know what makes a good one.
1.Make sure they are insured (public liability)
2.Make sure your dog looks happy when they are with them. You have cases of dogs who just keep 'telling' u they don't want to stay!!!
3.Make sure they have adequate & safe way to transport ur dogs for walks. Are they just putting them at the back of their salon car and driving them with no seat belts, no dog guards etc, that is putting your dog/s in danger.
4.Do they know animal first aid, knowledge about nutrition, like what to do in events of injurieis, first aid kit at home, what do they clean the dog bowls with etc. You will instinctly know if a person really knows how to take care of a dog.
I'm speaking from experience, coz I have 2 dogs of my own, and I have put them in the care of someone who unfortunately is not qualified and I will never make such a mistake again.
For those living in Herts, there's one such dog boarder, so please be careful who you leave your dog/s with.
