.. Rescue ? .. Or Breeder ?

We Have Decided On Getting Another Dog - Well A Puppy And Probably A Bitch Instead Of A Dog ..

We Can Afford Another Dog , And Someone Is Home Pretty Much All The Time .... We Know What We Are Doing Because Well We Have Already Had Jasper - A Nutty Springer So Yeh I Think We Learnt It All The Hard Way And He Isnt A Mess Right ? So Changing The Subject ..

Here The 'Rescue' Centers Are Awful .. They Are Fields With Like A Barbed Wired Fence Around It And A Few Bathtubs Of Water And They Throw In Some Food Every Now And Then .. They Hold About 700 Hundred Dogs .. Its Awful .. They Dont Get De Flea'ed Or Anything

There Are Plenty Of Strays In Our Area .. ( I Put Out Spare Plastic Tubs And Fill Them Up With Water For Them .. Yesterday It Was 52 °C !! ) I Guess We Could Keep Him/Her In Like A Pen In The Garden ( Hear Me Out !! ) Untill He/She Is 100% Healthy And Wont Pass Anything On To Jasper ( Same Thing As What We Would Do With A 'Rescue' Center Dog )

Or We Get A Purebred/Pedigree Pup From A Breeder ?
----

So What Do You Think Would Be Better ?

From A 'Rescue Center ' And Rescue A Pup

Actually Rescue One From The Streets

Or

From A Breeder ?

Thankyou .. x

Not Nice Picture -

Sahibinden.com - Türkiye'nin en büyük e-ticaret platformu - Oto, Emlak, Bilgisayar, Cep Telefonu, Elektronik, Antika, Giyim, Mobilya, Eleman / İş Arayanlar ve daha fazlası

thats at one of the few nicer rescue centers ( Istanbull ! ) and you can cleary see that dog/bitch is unwell

they dont know his age he used to be a street dog and they ask who will give him a home ..

he probably isnt de flea'ed .. it looks as though ( from his head tilt ) he has an ear infection ( or a foreign object inside his ear ) ? or anyway theres something thats causing his head tilt i could go on ...

so we are stuck on wether to rescue or what ? ..

add again - he is going for 2 pounds 50 pence ..

Re: .. Rescue ? .. Or Breeder ?

Hi it I think it depends what sort of dog you want, Ive done both, at present I have two I rehomed (both rotties) one from an unwanted litter & wasnt in a good way, & one that was a retired show dog looking for a home.

Ive had 2 previous rehomes before that a goldie & a doberman cross collie, 3 turned out to be really great family dogs, the dobermann cross wasn't good with my kids who were small at the time so I past her onto a local farmer I knew well who kept her all of her for the rest of her life where she was very happy & well cared for.

Ive also had 5 dogs from breeders as puppies twice taking the runt of the litter all of whom were & still are wonderful pets.

If you want an older or quieter dog maybe the resuce centre is a better choice, if you want a pedigree unless there's a breed rescue centre close to you, breeders probably gonna be the answer for you

Thankyou , We Definetly Would Like A Puppy Rather Than An Adult ( We Have A 4 Year Old Springer ) , We All Sat Down And Talked About It And Just Like Incase The Other Pup Passes Something On To Jasper .. And All The Vet Bills And Heart Ache It Will Cause .. When Im Older And On My Own , My Own House And All I Mean - I Would Love To Rescue A Puppy Off The Streets But Right Now I Think It Will Be Quite Hard Work

Thankyou Though x And I Think Its So Lovely Of You That You Rescued All Off Your Other Dogs .

Thankyou For Your Help

Re: .. Rescue ? .. Or Breeder ?

thats a hard question, my heart would be saying a rescue puppy but my head would be saying breeder.
maybe you could inquire at the rescue homes about pups they have and how healthy they are, or maybe you could ask your vet if they could recommend a rescue pup.
i've got/had both our youngest dogs are from a breeder but our other (and the other one we had) were rescues, all great dogs though
