Re: dog barking complaint? help.

Hi,

Would you say that your dog does bark alot? and for long periods of time etc...

Do you go out to work during the day, so that the dog is left on it's own for long periods of time? Because some dogs do tend to bark while they are left alone... and you are not to know how much the dog has been barking, only the neighbours do lol.

If they are complaining about normal dog barking... then they are being silly and cannot tolerate much. Maybe you should just wait to see what the Council say when they come to see you.

I know some neighbours can complain about anything and the tiniest of things... but if your dog is barking alot and for long periods of times then it is classed as a noise nuisance

Re: dog barking complaint? help.

it dont matta wat sort of barking ur dog does...if petty neighbours ave a prob wiv it then ur as good as fooked unless u can keep ur dog quiet as a mouse .

sorry to sound abit harsh but its true....if they report u once then the chances are they will report u again and again, wether ur dogs doing little or alot of barking.

All u have ta do is figger out a way to try keep her quiet the magority of the time or risk losing her or ur home.

if u have to go out at all to work or wat ever then maybe try giving her a kong filled wiv her fav treat...or peanut butter...if poss record her wile ur away to see if this works or not, At least recording her can at least give u an idea on a way to act on her behaiviour? maybe drop her round to family or m8s who can watch her wile ur out if she continues to bark or bring in a behaiviourist????

Re: dog barking complaint? help.

Not sure how you stand on this, my parents neighbours who live opposite have two SBT and they are kept outside if anyone passes or goes out into their own garden the dogs become very noisey mainly through the day.

My parents are used to dogs and dont mind as it alerts them that someone is loitering however another close neighbour works nights and can't sleep through the day for the dogs.

The dog owners were reported and the outcome was that the dogs are being protective which is normal not excessive.

The main problem is that the passage way between the houses is a popular route for people to use, so the dogs do bark a lot.

Sue

Re: dog barking complaint? help.

my mum has the same prob a jack russell next door barks and barks trying to get my mums crestie out so they can go at eachother at the fence . my mum permanently has to bring hers in as at 70 she cant stand the noise ..but even when hers is in, the neighbours dog barks repeatedly outside they dont call theirs in . i have to say it is a ruddy nuisance and my mum sits and cries as she has to keep hers in if the neighbours is out barking repeatedly. my mum has had her dog 7 years and he is half blind through dry eye thanx to a puppy farmmer breeder .
I went and spoke to the neighbour about trying to introduce them out the front where they can see eachother but am still awaiting response of actually doin it ..meanwhile my mum is havin to keep hers in as she dont want neighbours complaining about her dog barking back.
so i can see the other side as well as urs hun.
maybe it would be good to ask ur dog warden for that area for tips looks good on you that ur willing to try ways to resolve the barking
