Unhappy hoover dilemma

I have two dogs, a collie and a newfoundland. I have had numerous hoovers but have never found one that picks up dog hair efficiently, especially the newfoundlands ( she moults for England!!!). Has anyone found a hoover that does the job?!!

Re: hoover dilemma

I found Dysons do exactly the opposite of what they say on the box. They loose suction almost straight away.

We've been through loads including a Dyson and other brands, all of which were crap. We've now got a Vax and it's brilliant, had it well over a year, none of the others managed even 6 months.

Re: hoover dilemma

I had a few Dysons, none of which lasted longer than a year, then my hubby decided to buy a Vax pet hoover, and that has lasted about two years now so far. It does need emptying pretty often if they are shedding a lot, otherwise it can lose some suction, but other than that I find it brilliant. The suction is so hard the hoover is quite hard to push until you get used to it!

It is way cheaper than a Dyson as well.

Re: hoover dilemma

The hoover, dust manager, cyclonic I have now isn't bad but there are too many filters to clean, which need doing either when you finish or before your start again.

Your dogs are fairly short haired and low shedding though?
