Dog Grooming

Hello,

I'm new to this forum.

We have a Yorkshire terrier bitch, she hasn't been cut in over a year as she absolutely hates it. But she is desperate for a cut so I've booked someone to come to out next week to cut her.

She will not keep still and gets really aggressive (which is really unusual for her) during the cut.

Any suggestions? Is there anything we can give her to keep her calm?

Thanks,
Carl

Hi!

First of all it will be good for your dog if you stay with him when it's having his hair cut and grooming. For avoid stress to your dog it's recommended to use a lot of a special hair conditioner for dogs.

Here I've found an article about pets grooming

Greetings!
My groomer reccommends that the owner isn't present while she's grooming, it makes a calmer dog, I agree, If I was there when While mine were getting doen they'd be a nightmare! They LOVE getting groomed and love the groomer,
It might be the groomer they don't like, It took me ages to find one I liked and who the dogs liked! (and did a very good job for a decent price)!

I agree to, but there is the odd case where depending on the dog it is sometimes better to have the owner around. I used to groom dogs so it really just all depends upon the dog!
