Its actually a very good thread that I am reading with interest - I too want to understand why someone would go out and buy a non KC reg dog over a KC reg dog.
I read time and time again its about money - BUT if you buy a poorly bred non KC pup you are more likely to be at the vets - than if you had got a well bred KC dog. Its not about a show dog or if you want to breed - surely if you want a certain breed then buy one that actually looks like the breed its supposed to be!

Just adding a bit more

If i had gone for my true love breed (staffy) I would have gone for a kc reg one because that is the safest option and i know 99.9% what i pay for is what im getting ( there is always an exception ).
If I hadn't found a brilliant breeder who i got on well with and impressed me with their dogs etc i wouldn't have got a NI, I dont really want then NI kc reg as the kc do have a habit of changing the breed and i personally like how the NI's are

I am ethical and only breed for myself first and foremost. All my pups are spoken for from this litter Thanks so you do not have to give me Free Advertising.
As for KC being cheaper

I suggest you look at For sale Ads. No one will ever stop it happening, but I for one get really concerned as I know of people who have bought Non KC Reg pups, bred from unethical, unresponsible money grabbing Breeders, only to discover their lovely cute pup has health issues and some have died prematurely.
I do notlike to see it happening, but obviously it does not bother you, so each to their own concience

But thats where you are wrong i do care about dogs and other animals my house is full of animals. All well look after and cared for, but i would not turn my back on a dog i liked just to get a dog with papers, what do you want people to do with non kc pups. My chihuahua is non kc i paid £250 for him 7 years ago and he is perfectly healthy, kc chihuahua were about £650 at the time, but he is no different. ive rehomed a greyhound as well i use to work for a greyhound kennels left and took her with me.

I don't see anyone who is right or wrong with buying KC Reg Or Non Reg.

What I see as wrong is breeding from non standard non reg dogs when we already have far too many dogs been bred and the dog world is so over populated.

Yes and if you knew me you would realise I have nothing against people having Non KC Reg dogs. I have a GSD Non KC or Papered for that matter. I took her from a Scrap Yard where she was being Ill Treated. If you think I have a thing about Non KC you are so wrong, as I said before people IMO can own what they want "I Do" Only difference being I have never bred from my Non KC GSD

How people can breed from non kc dogs is beyond me...i ave 1 non kc boy here wiv me and there is noway in hell hes being bred from....snip snip

Before we got out staff, we went to resue places looking for dogs even battersea but we was not alloud to have any because our kid were young, we could only have a old dog, we did not think it was fair for the kids to fall in love with a old dog when it was not gonna last that long. That why we got one off our friend. if i did not buy her someone else would of and missed treated her, so im very happy i found her.
