ok does that mean then that i could check with the kc? and could i reg him?as i've said i know his grandad is mia's dad, they did not come from the same breeder..and i did see his mum and dad.
Janice if the breeders dogs are both kc reg what were the reasons for not registering the litter?

Only the breeder can register the pups, but I am nto sure if the breeder can register them at any time? If both kai's parents are registered, maybe the breeder would consider registering him now? (if the KC will allow it later on, I think they will) Perhaps if you offered topay for the registration?

maybe becoz it was an accident and she wasnt planning on mating them maybe she didnt want the pups to be bred from eitha so she didnt register them.

if she thinks the way alot of others on this thread do ( dont agree wiv breeding non kc reg dogs ) then that may well be the reason she didnt reg them?? wanting them to be pet dogs only.

Altho obviously it dont always stop people breeding.

Re: I only have kc dogs?

Neither of our dogs are KC reg, but there are reasons for it as most of you will have read in past posts, i know the mothers and father of them both , and back 5 generations i have thier mothers pedigree but not the fathers due to a row between the two friends that bred them both of which are friends of mine too,

Re: I only have kc dogs?

Hi i do think its each to there own re: KC reg dogs or non reg dogs but i do think that sometimes on this forum and other forums people who own non reg dogs are always given a hard time or made to feel bad for not owning Kc reg dogs which is the 'snobby' part about it. Neither of my dogs are KC reg and they just as good as any other dog and in my eyes better. I do not wish to breed or show as they are pets but i am glad of this as i would not like to be part of that what some people seem to be with their 'KC reg dogs!!!'

In my opinion, non reg dogs should not be bred with the exception of breeds trying to get KC recognition.
I don't look down at people because they have non reg dogs,it is there choice but I agree with Debbie in an earlier post they should not be bred from nor those dogs which are KC Reg but miles away from conforming to the breed standard.
I learn't a long time ago that KC Registration doesn't make the dog any better or worse than any other dog,nor does it guarentee a well bred health tested dog from a good breeder.
I don't see any valid reason to be breeding from a breed which is recognised by the KC,yet the parents are not eligable for registration, which makes the puppies not eligable either - there is nothing wrong with a well bred health tested KC Reg Puppy from good ethical Breeders which will provide a lifetime of support and advice as a pet.
Most Show Breeders prefer there dogs to go into "Pet Homes" they are all Pets first and foremost even "show dogs".
We enjoy the show scene,we even go to shows without taking the dogs, meet up with friends and throughly enjoy our day out!
