Advice needed!!

Hello, my 14 week old puppy has broken his leg today, he is currently at the vets getting the treatment he needs.
My main concern at the min is that me and my husband both work full time, but my husband comes home at dinner time to see to the puppy. I am unsure on what is best to do with the puppy while we are not at home?

Has anyone got any advice which will help?

Thank you

Re: Advice needed!!

Is he crate trained ??

I think realistically you will need to try and find someone who can "babysit" while you are at work

Maybe a friend or relative who is about during the day. A pet sitting service could do it but obviously that will be an expense, it is probably worth checking with your Insurance company if you have Insurance as they may cover the cost.

Re: Advice needed!!

OMG!!! How did the poor little thing do that!?

Have you got any family members that could pupster sit during the day while you are at work?

Would the vets board her for the day while you go to work? We used to do that at our practice.

Sorry can't think of anything else. Hope pup gets on ok.

Re: Advice needed!!

Unfortunalty we dont have any family near by as we have moved away from our local area and there is noone nearby that would be able to loook after him?

We havn't asked the vets to see if the would be able to look after him till he is abit stronger yet, so hopefully they will be able to help???

He is crate trained yes BUT thats how he broke his leg, he managed to jump onto the top of his crate and his leg fell inbetween the gaps and then he slipped off the top. It was horrible, i feel so sorry for him, and just want him to be ok during the day when we are at work?

Really worrying about what to do now

Thank you for the advice

Re: Advice needed!!

Poor little love, he might be a bit wary of his crate when he gets back

I would definately give your Insurance company a ring and have a chat with them if you have one.

Hopefully someone who has actual experience of rehabilitating a broken leg will be on soon and can give you an idea of what he will need x

Yea we do have insurance so will deffinatlt give them a call to see what they would be able to do.

Yea we think he will be affraid of his cage

I hope someone with alot of knowledge about this topic does come on as i would hate to upset our puppy even more.

Re: Advice needed!!

I have a pup with a broken leg. She had a splint on which has just been taken off. She is crated all the time that I can't watch her.
