Re: Deaf English Bull Terrier

Ethel is cute looking, we have never encountered a dog like sheep with all this weird behaviour. Our other dog and the family dogs are just as mystified as we are by her. As you say about your dog, Sheep leaves us in no doubt she is highly intelligent and a fast learner, actually the most like her we have seen was on a dog behaviour tv show called dog borstal. It sounds aweful but euthanasia has come up at the vets as she is so manic sometimes. This is why ive been led to post online to see if anyone has any ideas.

ps, i watched that dog borstal bull terrier lol...some of his ways was like ethel, like she has to ave everything laying on its side lol...she knocks stalls...cola bottles, purfume bottles, anything standing up is knocked on its side, once its on its side, she takes a look and walks away all happy lol.

but i think thats a ebt thing coz my sista's hearing ebt is the same....she knocks ladders on there sides aswell....sod being up one wen she does pmsl.

shes neva paced or circled manically tho, shes normal apart from some strange ways about her, like her funny voice lol, and the funny things she does to keep herself amused.... but its nothing worrying.

ethel comunicates brilliantly, shes very clever its unreal....she acts on site, vibration and shadows... but nothing ova the top...just normal behaiviour like a hearing dog would act like....if i want her, and her backs turnt to me, i just knock the floor and she looks around

ive put flood lites out my front and back for her so she knows wen people are coming up the path and does her guarding lol...ive tryed to make life as normal as ever for ethel and shes done brill

u dog is gorgeous btw i want it
here is ethel.
She is gorgeous! Making me want one again hehe.

yep lol.... i think all deaf dogs deserve a chance as any dog, altho breeding them is totally wrong....but u do get the arceholes that dont care and bring them into the world for money and u get the breeders that put the pups to sleep.... i know the good breeders are only looking out for the wealfare of the bull terrier by doing this, but the way i look at it is....if they bought it into the world, then they should look afta it train it, spey/neuture it, then find it the best possible suitable home...not kill them

Re: Deaf English Bull Terrier

Thank you for the dalmation rescue number, i will use it. I was really pleased to see someone else with the same dogs as me, we have been refered to another vet to check out if she has got this big brain small thick skull condition going on. I think it really is tragic people have bred english bull terriers so closely so they suffer this way. Ive done the RSCPA/CRUFTS petition and emailed it to my address book. Thanks again

Im still asleep and didnt read this post below but i am in total agreement but just too sleepy to be so eloquent
