All mine are endorsed both not for breeding and not for export and have been for the last 5 years, so I agree

Re: Endorsing?

I endorse mine as a precaution against irresponsible breeding - the resulting litter cannot be registered with the Kennel Club; so it acts as a deterrent. If someone does want to breed from a puppy they have bought from me, then I can talk to them, ensure that they are breeding for the right reasons, make sure they have had the necessary health tests done, and also make sure that they know just what they are letting themselves in for. I would then lift the endorsement if I thought it suistable.

Of course, it wouldn't stop a puppy farmer breeding and not registering the litter - but I house check all prospective buyers as a precaution against this.

To try and stop bad breeding.

If they did decide to breed and i was happy with the dog and reasons for breeding i would remove it when the dog was 2 years old

I would also never hide the fact to new owners that puppy was endorced.

My staffie is but i did not mind

Re: Endorsing?

Any pups we breed (even those we give to friends) are endorsed. Before the endorsements are lifted, we have to be satisfied that the dog/bitch is (a) at least two years old; (b) that satisfactory hip and eye test results have been recorded; and that (c) we feel that the proposed mating is a good, balanced one and that the prospective mate also has a compatible pedigree, good hips and clear eye tests.

Re: Endorsing?

We've not bred a litter but when we do the pups will be endorsed not for export and also not for breeding.
The 2 we've bought were endorsed so the breeder could keep a check on everything a bit like spellweaver. we were happy with this and would expect people to be the same if they bought pups from us
