I am on another forum dedicated to my breed Shar-Pei and someone has come on after buying a puppy from epupz(sorry if this website is not allowed to be mentioned, remove if required).
She has spent £1100 on a Black Shar-Pei Bitch, the advert which I would link directly but I will not, is selling them as Deep Blue, you can probably find them yourself. Her Kennel Club papers say she is a Lilac.

For thoughs who do not know Shar-Pei colours I will show you the different...

She is clearly a black, like Chance and I really do feel sorry for this woman, she has contacted the Kennel Club and they aren't really that bothered but have told her that she will have to get the breeder to re-registar the puppy as its correct colour if she is to breed from it.

Before this all happened my friend who owns the Blue puppy pointed out that they were advertising them as Deep Lilacs that will lighten up, now they are advertised as Deep Blue. Both colours as I am told will get darker as they get older not lighter.

I cant honestly believe that someone is as money-grabbing and shallow to do this! This poor lady has spent £1100 on a black. Both Black and Fawn are the cheapest colours going usually £400-£600, better pedigree more money but these have just been false advertised, and I wouldnt like to say how many was in the litter, how many others they have conned.

Sorry for blabbering on but its really upsetting someone would do that!

yes so many people get made a fool of by breeders you should always do research on the breed?
also check the lines ect for health problems and not RUSH in and buy the first puppy you see

Some breeders wil do anything to get your cash,
It's the same with SBT's if a blue is mated to a black then the ad usually reads carries the blue gene

It drives me mad.

is there nothing she can do to get some of her money back seeing the add was very misleading????

she is a lovely pup.

If the advert stated that the colour was Deep Blue and the puppy in question is actually Black, then that comes under the Trades Description Act doesn't it?

It's terrible that breeders will deceive the public like this (I didn't even know Shar Pei's came in all those colours!

I'd definately be contacting Trading Standards, please tell me she has recipts for the puppy?

Emma she can re register the pup herself,all she has to do is download the form from the kennel club site fill it in and of course pay the fee then she will be sent new papers.
I would be up in arms if i had paid for a rarer colourd dog and got a standard Black

ild be on the breeders case bigtime thats for sure...ild drive em to breaking point i swear... no way would anyone get away wiv rooking me.

she needs to get back intouch wiv this breeder and demand half her money back or the amount wich would make her pup worth wat it should of been sold for because of its color, and thell this breeder if she dont give it back shes gonna seek legal advice scare tactics sometimes works.

mind u be4 she rings the breeder i do think (as others have said) to get intouch wiv trading standereds or citiens advice to see wher she stands....then if shes told she aint got a leg to stand on...still ring the breeders and try her luck lol...i would

Unfortunately this breeder may be another case of Pet dog lets breedD Has not got a clue about her breed, just out tyo make money as she has a cutie in da hoose.
So as a result does not even know her colours, we hear it a lot in my breed from people like this have not got a clue about colours or anything else for that matter
