*WARNING* Some pics may offend the weak hearted! Sorry about the size!!
So, as some of you may have read my thread about a neighbor of mine that was breeder pit bulls merely for profit (here is the thread). Well, here are some updates. -The mother of these pups started running around and getting into all of the trash in the neighborhood, and she was terribly malnourished and underweight. The dog chased my moms yorkie, chased my neighbors cat, and also chased their daughter. This dog was shot by a farmer, sadly. When I asked them about the whole situation and if they were upset about it, they said that they were actually happy that it had happened so that they didn't have to worry about her any longer since they determined she was too old to breed again. They purchased more dogs to raise and breed, and it made me sick to my stomach. About a week ago, I remember seeing a U-Haul truck sitting in their driveway. The next day they were gone and had abandoned their dogs and all of the un-sold pups, which was about 8 dogs in all. Aparantly they had gotten in trouble for making meth and they left before they could get arrested. One of the dogs, a white pitt female, got out of the yard and was running loose. This dog in particular was VERY friendly and loved everyone, and she was also under weight. This dog ended up getting shot by the farmer who had killed the other pit, but she wasn't killed. She had a bullet hole through the top of her head. It didn't puncture the skull though, and went through just beneath the skin. She was very lucky. My mom and I were restless as to what we needed to do with these dogs since we cared about them. I found homes for 3 of the puppies, and with some mere luck, a guy heard about the dogs and came and got the rest of them. This guy was a disabled marine core guy who was epileptic. He had a pittbull as his service dog, and also trained pits for service. He came out and got all of the pups and they are now in training to detect seizures. So a terrible start ended happily. Hope ya'll enjoyed my update! Below a couple of pics of the white female that was shot in the head. ![]() ![]() And some of the pups. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: *SAD/HAPPY UPDATE* backyard breeder
What a lovely ending to a heartbreaking story. How great for the pups that someone is not only looking after them but training them to use their intelligence to become valued working dogs xx Hope the ppl all die slowly and painfully of meth ODs and being shot.

Re: *SAD/HAPPY UPDATE* backyard breeder
What sad and heart wretching sorry you have just told, demostrates perfectly the behaviour of a back yard breeder.
Well done to you for taking this canine family under your wing and your effrts to help thm. The pups look so very appealing however anyone could treat living breathing aniamls in such an appaling way is beyond me. The mother looks is a sorry state, hopefully she will recover to full health now that sh is out of the hands of those evil beings. Just one thing, It's a little concerning that a farmer can amble around taking shots willy nilly, It is my belief that without being confident of a clean kill they should not aim. Do not think I am naive to the right thats farmers have, but I was always under the impression that to shoot a dog they had to be confident of achieing a quick clean kill, and that by wounding a dog they could leave thenselves open to procescution, Can anyone confirm this please. I know It will not do a lot of good for this girl but I for one would be interested to know the law on this issue. |
