Re: Trouble selling puppies

Just do me a favor and when you sell them plz do so on a contract so they cannot be bred from, £100 is reasonable to filter out the scroats, but plz put pen to paper and put endorsements on them!! Good luck and I hope they all go to good homes!

To adopt out a potentially in whelp bitch was TOTALLY irresponsible on their part, especially if you've never had experience whelping puppies before.

I too think you should contact the rescue you got the dog from. They should be able to help you find homes at the very least.

I wish you the very best of luck with them.
Yeah i'd love to do that if i was loaded but as i'm not i can't. I'm seriously out of pocket it's cost me alot to raise these pups what with feeding and trips to the vet and worming not to mention the fact that they've wrecked my living room. If i'd done this on purpose to try and make money than i'd say i'd deserve it but all i was trying to do was rehome a dog in need and to be honest if i'd know this was gonna happen i probably would have walked on by.

Re: Trouble selling puppies

i think £100 slightly OTT

i paid £50 for my cross and i think that was just right.... the 'breeder' was prepared to give me her for a lot less but the amount she spent on her was way over £50 lol... but its not about the money in these situations!!!

btw gungirl - your sigs nice but can you make it smaller???

They probably did this so the owner couldnt come back for the expenses, if she was actually pregant, they were just covering their backs to prevent a long drawn out battle afterwards if for instance if the bitch died in labour, the owner could have gone stating she didnt know the dog was pregant, she wants her money back or she wants another dog for free, or she wants all the vet bills paid, rescue have to do disclaimers especially if the dogs are strays because more often than not you have no medical history, if they knew she was in season they knew there was a possibility of pregnancy but if I am right they didnt know for a fact she was pregant, but that dosnt mean they wont take the pups and be able to rehome them.

Re: Trouble selling puppies

I think your right i really don't think they'd have sold her if they'd known she was pregnant. I'll just have to drop the price and keep my fingers crossed.

Re: Trouble selling puppies

I think £100 is a good price to be honest, i paid £100 for one of my boys its enough to put people off buying just for the sake of getting a puppy but not enough to take a potential good home away for a dog. Plus it isnt cheap to raise a litter so the op should really have the chance to get some money back seeing as she didnt ask or realise she was in the situation until it was
too late.

I would maybe even try in shop windows e.t.c if you havnt already (if the rescue are unwilling to help!) just vet the homes well

Re: Trouble selling puppies

without being personal and not meaning to offend, if you have managed to re coup your money up to now on the pups you have already sold on, why dont you see if the rescue can take them, they will find homes for them, they will be able to charge a small fee for them and that fee will go to the funds that enable them to help other dogs that are not so fortunate?

Re: Trouble selling puppies

All the pups in my local rescue centre get homed super fast, so just take them there to be rehomed... They often have a network of foster homes to provide a temporary place to stay where they can start with socialization.

Moboyd is right, they had to have a disclaimer, these places don't exactly swim in money and they cannot risk getting asked for damages. They don't mean to say if there are puppies it's your problem, I am sure they will take them.
