Re: interesting video.....

I don't know anything about breeding dogs BUT I have been looking for a dog for the past 5 months AND I have always believed in getting a rescue dog. My current dog and two cats are all rescues. And there are stacks of dogs in rescue looking for homes. I did research until it was coming out of my ears. I have had and passed countless homechecks. I even saw a pup on a supposedly reputable charities website that I thought 'yes' that is for us.
I phoned on the Monday, and expressed my interest but also said that my daughter had a virus (that vomitting bug thing) and so I would not be able to go and see the pup until the end of the week. Thats fine they said. Anyway 2 hours later the homecheckers were round. Then every day - got e mails, telephone calls, when was I going to go mget the pup. I explained I wanted to go meet him with daughters AND then if all okay take him home. Does that not sound fair? He was is a foster home - the fosterer told me I would have to give them a donation over and above the charities donation. Plus the vaccinations the foster carer administered themselves - got it off the internet.

All in all didn't feel comfortable so knocked it on the head.

I am as lots of u know getting a pup from a reputable breeder whom I have 100% confidence in.

If all dogs were bred in a reputable way then these rescue centres would not be a necessity.

End of rant but charities aint all they seem.

I definatly find mongrels tend to have less problems than pedigrees health wise.

Agree with that too, the RSPCA are useless and by the looks of the link Sally posted so are PETA.

i think, without a doubt, that the normal little heinz 57 ( as they were called) are much healthier than the pedigree dogs. if you think about years ago all the family dog really got to eat was the scraps ( if any) from the family meal and were full of energy and never ill, you even had the white chalk poos!!!

Re: interesting video.....

We do need to remember though that if we look back at the roots of the dogs in the wild, they are the carrions and basically eat anything, decaying flesh, rubbish, all sorts. I mean they eat ****, literally, and in the main have cast iron guts.

Its humans that have bred into them food intolerances, sensitive guts etc
