Heated blankets

Hi everyone.

Im new to the forum and have a question regarding heating, i have too short haired dogs that i keep in a run and kennel.
Now that winter is coming im thinking i should invest in a heat pad for them both, it would be a pain to wire up but i think it would be worth it in the long run.

They already have a wooden floor in their kennel with a blanket but they are bulldogs so what would you guys think?

I carnt keep them in the house as i already have dogs that live inside that they don't get on with lol!!!

thanks chris

Re: Heated blankets

I can't say as I live in a cold climate and a bulldog would not survive left outside. I'm sure someone in your country will be around and give advise on whether this is advisable or not...Jill

Re: Heated blankets

I am not sure on this one...............but if they are outside in the kennel right through the winter months then just a heated blanket wouldnt be enough I dont think. They would prob need some other sort of heating.. over head heating lamp over half of the bedding area so they can move away if it gets too hot for them, or some other type of over all heating. Dont quote me on this one but this is what I would of thought, especially at night times as it will get damn cold outside. Not sure if they would chew through the cables at all???????????? someone who knows more will come and read your thread and give you a good answer xxx

i would only use a heat lamp if there was no way they could reach it, how high is the kennel?

imo i do think those two breeds will need some form of heating to keep them warm tho.
