A question for you all
This is not a horrible thread so i hope it doesn't come construed as that way.
But I found advertised on the kennel club website (i found it before we bought mika home) a breeder advertising a 6 month old pup. Now hypothetically speaking, if you as a breeder had a pup you still couldn't find a home for and would now be 6 months of age would you lower the price a bit. I'm not looking for another dog by the way nor would i even ask if a breeder could lower the price - im not that rude. I'm just asking what you all would do that's all ![]()

Re: A question for you all
In Norway they would lower the price, unless they had some special intentions with the dog if it was specially good or something (though then they'd rather put it out on breeding terms).

Re: A question for you all
It is common for breeders to want to keep a puppy for show or breeding stock out of their litters. Sometimes it is hard to establish which puppy is that super special one that you want to add to your home. I've seen two scenarios with this situation.
1: Breeder keeps two puppies and over the course of a few months, determines which will make the best addition to the crew. 2: Breeder homes two puppies with one owner. At 6 months of age, breeder will evaluate puppies and take her pick home with her. I personally wouldn't lower the price much if I put a lot of work (ringcraft/training) into the pup, which I most certainly would. You're getting a well trained, house broken puppy that you wont have to put as much work into as you would an 8 week old puppy. |
