back to back breedings!

ok
there is a woman that lives not to far from me and she breeds her dog every season and i know she as had at least 4 litters from her

Surely she will kill her poor dog and the pups must be of poor quality.

I dont speak to this woman but people are always on about what she is doing and i must say her dog always looks so sad(ive seen her this morning).

She is in bad shape as well her body does not look good.

What is the long tearm damage for this poor dog?

Re: back to back breedings!

You have seen photo's of bitches at PF's and they are bred back to back all the time. She will be extremely drained and will eventually just stop producing because her body wont be able to produce the nutrients and condition she needs to produce pups. The poor little girls it's such a shame that people treat their animals like this.
What breed is she? do you know?

Take care

Sarah

This disgusts me, i have a friend who bought a dog that this had happened to, the poor girl had no socialisation as she was constantly stuck in a crate either giving birth or with puppies hanging off her. She was timid and didnt like to be touched. She has just went through an operation for lumps (dont know all the details or the medical term) but basically the vet said it stemmed from being over bred from. Thank goodness now that she lives with my friend she has come out of her shell and is now socialised with humans and other dogs and is less sensitive to being touched. This woman you are talking about should be reported. Im not surprised the dog isnt happy, if i was permanently pregnant i wouldnt be happy either.

Year i can not even speak to this woman as i find it so disgusting.
I think if i report they will not doing any thing because the dog is fed but yep people like this should not be allowed keep animals.
I wish they was a law against this because it is so cruel doing this to a animal

Re: back to back breedings!

What a shame, obviously there is a whole host of problems, especially as I doubt very much if the dog is recieving the correct diet, bone problems spring to mind, as do prolapses, and pyro just to tip the iceberg.

The RSPCA will not be able to do anything, but I'm sure Inland Revenue would be interested . Also, it may be worth checking your local authority laws regarding breeding. They vary from area to area and some go by number of bitches, some by number of litters. Is this her only bitch?

HERE HERE!!!!!!!!!
Its decent people like yourself that are concerned when they see someit isnt right, id maybe ring RSPCA and ask them where you stand on this one and what can be done, at least then you will have your own peace of mind and if they dont do anything u will know you have tried, im sure it should be able to be done anonymously. x

Great suggestions. I expect Inland Revenue will have a lot to say about it
