if you want to breed
you have to submit your dogs for examination
with pedigrees, health tests etc
and only if panel of experts agree
can the litter be registered with that countries kc
Very true, but you can still breed unregistered or cross breeds. You certainly don't find the large amount of irresponsible breeding you do here, nor do they have the problems with rescue we do, but then they don't have the problems with teenage pregnancy or single parenthood that we do either.

Re: back to back breedings!

It is amazing that we are looked on as being a nation of dog lovers yet the things you hear every day are appalling.
If we truly loved our animals then the laws should be better in order to protect them.
This "lady" by obviously not looking after her dog properly should be hung out to dry, yet I would think nothing at all can be done about it.
The inland revenue may or may not get involved, but it may just mean another Staffie bitch in rescue or on death row, the dog's life will not improve.

Re: back to back breedings!

My mum reported someone for back to back breeding to the KC. She ws informed that although they dont condone it they dont police it either I thought that was one of the points of registering pups .........to protect the Dams, it costs enough to register you'd think at least they could was cross match a few dates and work out who's doing right from wrong!!!!!

People like this shouldnt have pets let alone be allowed to breed. makes you think if the puppy buyers see the mum coz she wont be setting an example of a loving pet owner

Re: back to back breedings!

there is a report due out in October ( APGAW) which will place recommendations to MP's on the control of breeding and sale of pedigree dogs ( sadly they have not adressed the HUGE problem of the deliberate breeding of cross breeds ! ) - I am hoping that this will push through some legislation to stop the present free for all - at the very least they should have legislation covering identification of all dogs - frequency of litters - age of dam - BVA health testing ( not just an OK by the vet ! ) - breeding co-efficients ( how inbred the litter will be ! ) - and contracts of sale .

we can only hope !

well that would be fantastic!

the situation is definatly getting worse imo a lot of people are cashing in on the 'designer' dog craze...so something has to be done to protect all dogs
