dont give him nothing it was a mistake your dogs breeded and he aint got no invovlement in it you did not have to pay him for stud fee so dont give him a free dog......if you did pay him to use his dog he could have pick of the litter or the money you sell one of the pups for but you didnt so dont give him nothing..

Re: Puppy Buyers!

I've just been reading your thread........

For god sake! Just tell this crafty sod to take a running jump!!

He obviously jumped on an opportunity and unfortunately you were not strong enough to tell him where to go!
Why on earth did you exchange telephone numbers? I'm sure in hindsight you know that was foolish!

Anyway, i'm not going to lecture you. You need to tell him once and for all that you have no intention of firstly allowing him anywhere near any of your puppies, and secondly you want no more contact!
If he gets nasty, you can always say you've taken advice from the local police station who have advised it could be viewed as harrassment,
Legally he hasn't a leg to stand on. What would he do with that poor puppy in the future????

I hope you're more careful when rehoming your babies

Re: Puppy Buyers!

it was irresponsible of you to let him off the lead but can see you would'nt do it again after all this. If you never intended to breed you should have had your bitch spayed. ( i would hope you have he spayed now after all )
As for this MORON tell him to get lost as so many others have told you and get his fone number blocked pront!!! good luck with finding good homes do let us know outcome.

Re: Puppy Buyers!

Sorry about the situation you're in. Does this man know where you live or has he just got your number?

You sound like you find it difficult to stand up to him as he seems to have dictated his terms to you before you had a chance to think about it.

If he can only contact you by phone just tell him or text him that you have had a change of mind and just to make sure that he has'nt lost out you have sought legal advice about the situation.

As he has'nt contributed at all to the pups wellbeing he is'nt out of pocket. In fact his dog has had quite a good time so he should be thanking you :

Tell him that you are giving the pups to loving homes and not making any money out of them, in fact you will be out of pocket by the time they go. Tell him that they are all going to families that have someone at home all the time and will be very happy. Then say sorry for letting him think that he could have one but the puppies welfare comes before anything else.

If he is a decent human being then he'll accept it if he is'nt then you know that you have done the right thing by not letting him a pup.

If he knows where you live thats another matter. You may find that he won't let it go and stick to his guns. I would then contact your animal welfare officer at the council for some advice or ask the CAB to contact a solicitor on your behalf for a quick answer. If he starts to bother you, get yourself some help and don't leave the pups in on their own when you take your girl out.

Finally please don't let the pup go to this man. You will always wonder what became of it. For all you know he has already sold it in advance to God knows who and is just waiting for you to hand it over, so he can make a few pounds.

Please let us know how you are coping with all this and the outcome for all the pups.

Re: Puppy Buyers!

Hi everyone

Thank you so much for all your help and support. This man has also been asking about 'loving looking' bitches at the local park and seems quite keen to mate his dog again before he is past it! (He is now 13!)

He does know where we live but hubby is now dealing with him! He has backed off and touch wood that is the end of it.

Pups all growing fast and it is going to be so hard to see them go but they are all going to really good homes and all families are making regular visits which is just great.

Hopefully attaching a more recent photo of two of them play fighting!

Julie

Re: Puppy Buyers!

Hi Julie

Thats wonderful news. I think that bloke is lucky that his 13 year old male did'nt drop down dead on the job!!! Maybe he wants him top go with a smile on his face!

So glad that he didn't get a pup but it seems he is stilll trying it on with other people. He sounds very dodgy.

Are you keeping any of the pups? I went to see my puppy Katie today - she is 5 weeks old and we are getting her next Saturday. Her owners say they are dreading them going but they have 6 and they are going to let one go every couple of days or so as they did find that their Mum Lilly got so upset as Schmoo was around till he was 8 weeks and he was the last to go. They did keep one though and some family members did have some, so at least they were close by.

All of us owners have given our email addresses and we have hers so that we can keep in touch and send a few photos!

Anyway so glad that you have had a happy ending with Biscuit and the pups.

PS Schmoo is Katies older brother. He was from Lillys previous litter.

You say you are collecting your new puppy next week and is only 5 weeks old now. You seem ok with this i would not want to pick a puppy up as early
as 6 weeks as it will only just have got used to weaning and started socialising.

I would never let my puppies go until at least 8 weeks old and even longer if needed. I find it irresponsible of the breeder to let it go so early!! Will it be vaccinated or health checked?? I would be very dubious about having a pup from someone who let them go so young. Are they reputable breeders? Will you get insurance? or a life time of support?
