has anyone ever had a dog act pregnant ie.... extra washing of bits, extra grumpy, extra i want cuddles NOW, off food and then on food, you now that sort of thing, but does not actually look pregnant, apart from boobies getting a little bigger, now i ask cos my little girl is acting pregnant, never had this before with all the bitches ive had so could it be a phantom, that or she sneaked of somewhere when i was not looking has anyone had experiance of a phantom pregnancy.

Re: pregnant dog

She must be having a phantom - keep an eye on her though it can *sometimes* lead to a pyo.

Re: pregnant dog

Mine have phantoms too. As i breed them on seperate seasons the other has the phantom. They produce milk and everything and even help the other one out with the pups.

Re: pregnant dog

before my old rottie died she had a phantom pregnancy, i s**t myself because we got her when she was about 5 but we knew she wasn't spayed, we always made sure we kept her away from males and she never had a phantom pregnancy till she was about 9
i really thought she had been caught but thankfully she hadn't and it just went away

Re: pregnant dog

My border terrier spends most of her time trying to hump my male dog, the poor thing hates it, for a start he has been done and secondly his head is as big as the whole of her so she jumps up on his neck and gives it a go while his lying down! Quite funny to watch!
