![]() Think it's a good idea what you said about telling them a cheque will be sent after a vet has checked him over! ![]() |

Re: buyers deciding they don't want a puppy
Been there !! I breed labs, A lady picked one a 3 weeks old, had been on a waiting list since before they were born, visited loads of times , emailed loads of questions, which I gladly answered, took the pup at 8 weeks old. Her friend phoned a few days later to let me know she now had the pup, the original lady had given it to her after 1 night of not being able to cope with poo on the floor and puppy crying the first night. We always say any problems please call us or bring the dog back to us and that stands for its entire life. But no ! she gives it away. The only good thing is she now has a lovely home with experienced owners.

Re: buyers deciding they don't want a puppy
Hi all
Well, we've got him back! ![]() ![]() Armed with all your kind suggestions, we went prepared. As soon as we went into her house, the pup raced over to us - he was absolutely overjoyed to see us - and my husband picked him up and said, "I'll just put him in the car while we sort the paperwork out" - just to make sure that whatever happened, he was coming back with us. She gave me all the paperwork back, and then I gave her her money - less her deposit. I explained that she didn't get her deposit back because of the costs incurred, and she accepted that with no more than a raised eyebrow. I asked her if she felt she could put something towards the cost of our travel, but she felt she couldn't - so no surprise there. ![]() I said that I was sorry it hadn't worked out for them, and asked what had changed their mind. Well - she said that he had bitten their labradoodle and made him bleed but when I asked to look at the wound, she couldn't find it. She also said that she had bitten her daughter on the leg through her jeans and that there was a huge hole in her jeans . The little girl was sitting there, so I asked her to show me where the puppy had bitten her and there wasn't even a red mark. I asked to look at the jeans - but they were in the wash. Now, call me suspicious, but I think that all this was totally made up - especially since when we went in, the pup, the labradoodle, the boy and the girl were all playing together happily on the floor in the sitting room. If the little girl had been bitten that badly, there would be no way I would allow the pup anywhere near her. Neither do I think that a nine week old pup has strong enough teeth to bite through jeans and make a great hole (I can see him chewing a hole given half an hour or so!). And I know I'm blowing my own trumpet, but this pup - indeed all my pups - have been brought up with dogs and cats and have all got on well with other animals in their new homes. I think you were right, AJSHEP - she just wanted her money back and was making things up so that it looked like our fault rather than hers.Anyway, he's home, and tearing around the garden with our other dogs, seemingly none the worse for wear. Thank you all for your support and excellent suggestions - I'm so glad I joined this forum!

Some people are just unbelievable. They must have thought you were born yesterday. ![]() I think if they were the type of people that didnt understand puppies and could be so flippant about letting the pup go then he is better off back with you. I hope you find him a more genuine permanent home this time. ![]()

Re: buyers deciding they don't want a puppy
That's a pretty lame excuse! Jayjay nips all the time but I'm not sending him back, I'm taking the time to train him out of it. It's a normal puppy thing.
Glad it worked out alright anyway, I bet he's overjoyed to be back with you and all those huge dogs! I think it did Jayjay a lot of good being around them he's not fazed by anything. What are you planning to do with him now then? ![]() |
