Re: Blood in urine!

Unfortunately the baby passed away tonight

I took her to the vets yesterday and she was given antibiotics although the vet warned me that in a baby so young it was hard to say what was wrong and it could have been something much more serious.

As today went on she grew weaker and weaker also turned a slight yellow (which would suggest a serious liver problem to me). She also stopped feeding and weeing.

I wasn't expecting her to make it but that doesn't make it any easier, poor little thing life can be so cruel.

On a happier note the remaining two are doing really well. I am still sitting with Maud every two hours while she feeds them to make sure they are feeding and helping her make them poo as she's happy to make them wee but doesn't like to make them poo! (can't say I blame her).

Thank you for all your kind words and advice x

Re: Blood in urine!

oh i am so sorry to hear about the little one, i am sure the other two will continue to thrive.

My girl loved the poo bit. In fact i never cleaned up more than a couple of poo's all the time i had the pups till they went. It freaked me out but with all her licking jobs she didnt have any smelly kisses left for me. Phew!

Good luck

Re: Blood in urine!

ahh i am sorry brighteyes, tbh i did think it was something more serious but didnt want to upset you ( i know you had already consulted the vet as well) but blood in a newborn like that is usually a indication of something more serious, such a shame

Re: Blood in urine!

Thanks everybody,
The other two (Hugh and Betty!) are doing really well and Maud is really bonding with them.
She has settled a lot more since the little one died, I wonder if she knew cause she wouldn't leave her alone always licking her. She looked for her when she'd first gone but is fine now.
Poor little thing obviously wasn't ment to be

Trying to focus on the remaining two and Maud now

i think they do know, either push them away or keep licking them, it must be their instincts telling them something isnt right
