Katey

Katey was scanned as having 3/4 pups, she never really got much bigger after 4 weeks so took her back for another scan at 6 weeks and was told she had absorbed all but one, and that one didn't look viable

I put her back with the boys and treated her like "normal" as advised

A week later I tipped her upside down to just check her out and saw a pup move, even though she had put on NO weight at all !

On Saturday day 60 she was very restless so I kept a close eye on her

She really started to get going Sunday morning, and delivered a beautiful black and tan girl at 6.15 Sunday evening on day 61 weighing 8oz

We have had a rough two days, first Katey wouldn't acknowledge the pup although she would let her feed, then her bottom two teats were getting very heavy. Didn't sleep Sunday night at all and spent all day yesterday milking her bottom two teats as pup had a hard job latching on, and toileting her while trying to comfort Katey

Today we have turned a corner, pup can now latch onto bottom teats and Katey has decided that she is now ready to be a Mum

Anyway here she is

Just goes to show even the best laid plans don't always work

that mum & pup are now bonding

Re: Katey

Sorry to hear you've has a rough time.
Must of been quite a roller coaster ride!
What a lovely little pup - sounds like she was quite a surprise.
Congratulations on your new little girl
They both look beautiful in the pic of them together.

Re: Katey

Hi Rach, I am so sorry that you and Katey have had such a difficult time, I know that you must be gutted about the ones that she reabsorbed, and it is heartbreaking when mum doesnt seem to care about her baby, but you seem to have turned the corner now. You should both be very proud of the beautiful pup that she did produce - what a cutey!!
Hopefully now things will settle down and Katey will enjoy being a mum, and you can sit back and enjoy watching the pup grow up.
