My lab is nearly two and hasn't had a season

My black lab will be 2 years old next month and she hasn't had a season yet.

I thought she may be coming into season last Sept as my male dog kept sniffing her, but nothing happened. Do you think she may have had a 'silent season' or do you think there could be something wrong (she is in excellent heath/ideal weight/hip and eye tested).

She is a beautiful sweet natured dog and I would really love her to have a litter of puppies so that I can keep her line going.

Am I being over anxious or do you think I should take her to the vets for a check up?

Re: My lab is nearly two and hasn't had a season

i have heard that sometimes a bitch can have a dry season.
i would ask your vet just to make sure.
if you have a male dog then he would be going crazy if she was in season and he would not be leaving her alone.

Re: My lab is nearly two and hasn't had a season

Our Daisy ( golden lab ) is 13 months old and as far as we know she hasnt had a season yet either . our vet said she may have had a secret season we did not notice but we have never had problems ever with her at any time and male dogs .We dont intend to breed either of our labs so we will be having them spayed later in April .

If I took her to the vets, does anyone know what kind of tests they would do?

probably do some blood tests to test her hormone level - I have a friend whose welsh springer didnt have her first season until the age of 3. There is some homeopathic stuff that you can give to try and balance the hormone level and bring her in here is the link it may be worth a read

Colloidal Silver, renowned as a universal natural antibiotic and disinfectant
Colloidal Silver: Antibiotic Superhero

As an antibiotic, Silver kills over 650 disease causing organisms and RESISTANT STRAINS FAIL TO DEVELOP. Silver is absolutely non-toxic. Silver in its colloidal state is highly germicidal and has the opposite magnetic charge to disease; it usually starts cleaning the bloodstream after 15 minutes of ingestion. Colloidal Silver functions to kill disease organisms as well as stimulate the regrowth and repair of injured tissue. It may be used both internally and externally, for humans and animals. Externally, this water may be applied directly to cuts, rashes, burns, and moles. Internally, it may be used for viral infections, throat and respiratory infections, diabetes, Candida yeast infections, menstrual difficulties, parasites, diarrhea, allergies, colon spasms, and low energy. Colloidal Silver may be used as eye drops for retinitis (a disease of the eyes).

Sorry to hi-jack - I use C Silver for many things - mainly cuts or rashes on dogs - I have had some when I had a sore throat too - great stuff - Good for healing
