Re: pregnancy signs.......

Dogs get morning sickness like humans so its pretty normal.
Is this the bitch who you had concerns over the pedigree?

Re: pregnancy signs.......

I'd say it was definately a good sign.
They do tend to sleep alot more aswell.
They can also go off their food from time to time so dont worry if that happens either.
Fingers crossed!

Re: pregnancy signs.......

There is a huge demand for chihuahuas (cant spell) its all down to stars and their handbag dogs, they are selling for crazy money and theft and dodgy dealings is probably highly likely.I have a chi x toy yorkie i bought her from a lady who looked a bit dodgy shes around 9 and can be a bit snappy so god knows what happened to her,i felt sorry for her,i think she was used for breeding, she has a heart defect and is on daily medication.

Re: pregnancy signs.......

To me 10 days after mating is a bit early to notice any signs of pregnancy. With my girls it is usually about 3 to 4 weeks before you can notice any signs, I have always found the best indication to be a clear/opaque discharge at around 5 weeks but before then it can be quite difficult. With regards to you feeding her differently now I again usually wait until they are 5 weeks pregnant to change to a puppy food as they dont need anything extra before this time.

Re: pregnancy signs.......

you have to be carefull giving an adult dog puppy food as it contains a lot of protien and can be dangerous to adult dogs and in some cases fatal. they do make food for pregnant bitches which is far safer, when my bitch was in pup i fed her more frequently with smaller sized meals she wasnt so sick that way. good luck i ended up with 10 rotti pups
