Triple Pelvis Oestotomy, they cut the pelvis in three places to allow the pelvis to rotate to accommodate the hip joint, there is then a bracket screwed in place to keep it all together. This is to help the joints from moving around too much and causing arthritis. She already has arthritis in one hip which is too bad for this op, poor thing.

Red face Re: why do breeders breed dogs with known disabilities

Bullbreeds -

Most sincere apologies, catching up on too many posts. I can see your point but its a viscious circle, to me the puppies are already born, to you if there wasn't a market, you know what I mean? Happy to see where the KC fits into this, watch this space.

Re: why do breeders breed dogs with known disabilities

Unfortunately the KC will not ensure that all breeding bitches stud dogs have undertaken the relevant health checks we tried it with golden retrievers many years back - it would be too much loss of revenue for them.

Again I wish you all the best with your baby did you happen to watch the videos of Tamba they are hip dysplasia at its worst but cannot believe what the outcome was.

For anybody who would like to see the story of Tamba (box of tissues at the ready) google Many tears rescue - Tamba

No hard feeling .
I do agree, it is a vicious circle and unfortunately I see no end to it in the near future.
I understand your point that the puppies are already born so they have to go somewhere and the majority of caring animal lovers would not be able to walk away, that would include myself.
I was merely speaking with regards to how we should stop these kinds of breeders, I see the only way is if people buy from reputable sources.
All the time we buy from the unscrupulous people we are funding them and giving them no reason to stop. Its just helping them make money and giving them the insentive to breed more.
Health testing should be made law.

Many thanks for telling me about Tamba - its heartbreaking and really brings you down to reality, it broke my heart and I daren't show the kids, they would be so upset.

As far as I know he is doing fine I told you it was a tearjerker but thought it might help as far as your baby was concerned cos that was a real bad case that I would not have thought would ever have been able to achieve what they did with love, hard work and most of all kindness.
