re: want to breed a dog

I don't thing there is a book been written that could advise anyone on this subject.
IMH the most important thing is research - I have been checking our breed database for 3 years now - not because I want to breed - but becasue I find it's interesting. It's amazing what you turn up with a bit of digging!
regards
DT

Ah I see, I thought from your post you meant that you weren't offering advice because you were a Lab breeder, thanks for explaining

re: want to breed a dog

The owners of the dogs I use to breed with my girls do have maidens coming through obviously all health tested at 1 year old and temperment checked and had some results in field trials.Youngest I`ve used has been 23 months old,my girl was maiden also and was 26 months.Fun and games.Result 10 beautiful pups ,I kept a wonderful girl who most definately was half mum and dad.Dad is now a FTCH and wins regularly .I choose maidens carefully.
