Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know how helpful I have found this section of the forum as my bitch Poppy is due this week....it is her first litter and also mine.
I have been on here everyday for the last 2 weeks reading all your posts from start to finish. I have laughed at some of the posts and I have cried my eyes out at some too, but I have learnt alot along the way!

I thought I had a good strong bond with Poppy before we had her mated - OMG...the bond we have now has blown me away! She can read my mind and I can or try to read hers too. I can't wait for these puppies to come so I can see what an amazing Mum she is going to be.

But what i wanted to say most was thank you to all of you for your knowledge and understanding on other peoples posts because it has given me a lot more to take away...

what breed is poppy?! Has she been scanned; you know how many to expect?

Hi, Poppy is a weimaraner and she was scanned on day 44. She's expecting 8 puppies!
She is now day 58....watch this space LOL.

You say this is your first litter, have you assisted before or do you have someone you can call on if you need help?

I take it you have already noticed that pictures of mommas and pups are a legal requirement on PF!? So bear in mind!

I have my next door neighbour who has successfully whelped litters in the past and my mum in law who has done it her entire life so if I need them they will be there!
But also my vet has given me her personal mobile number if I need her (my vet is wonderful! I love her Lol).
And of course pics will be up as soon as humanly possible!

Tis a fair amount of help thats for sure! When missy had her 1st litter I was lucky enough that my neighbour was a vetnurse- mind you I'm sure I had the poor woman tortured that first week!
Is that poppy in your avatar; or do you have more than one of the lovelys!? Are you hoping for a keeper in the litter? You'll surely get your pick with 8

i'm a catlover and owner but also love dogs as well as other animals in general

i'm so excited for you - i hope everything goes smoothly for you and Poppy - please let us know as soon as you can....i'll keep an eye on the dog forum x
