New home waiting!!!!!

Hello all,

I am looking for a puppy , i love the englishbulldog and don't mind paying , but i get torn when i see all these dogs that need rehoming so i wouldn't rule out adoption. I have adopted a cat that i had for 12 years that sadly i lost on nov 5th of this year, i have a BSH pedigree cat and 2 adopted guinea pigs and a snake that we have had for 18 years so as you can see I Love animals. We have a 140 ft garden and 2 massive local parks, and a owner that needs to get fit

I must add that i have 3 children, that live at home a very touchy 3 year old a nine year old and a twelve year old but as myself and my husband have 8 kids between us the house is a bee hive of activity. I would not rule out a older dog but would perfer a puppy because of the 3 year old and my nine year old daughter is disabled so thought it would be nice to have a dog grow with her, we were told that a dog might bring her out of herself a little.
We wouldnt rule out any breed, as long as he gets along with the children and the cat i'm not to worried if he gets on with my husband lol
many thanks for reading my post

Re: New home waiting!!!!!

all i would say is that if you get a dog from a rescue centre, most won`t home stray dogs to familys with children under 13 sometimes 16,as we don`t know the dogs history.of course there are plenty of other dogs in rescue that would be suitable

What breeds are you interested in ?

If you contact some of the breed rescue's they tend to consider every families circumstances rather than having blanket policies in place.

Re: New home waiting!!!!!

You will find it very hard to get a rescue dog that will meet all your requirements - I know because I tried it! I have a 2 and 3 year old that are brought up with dogs. And I also work with special need children.

Anyhow in the end I got a very child friendly Golden Retriever puppy - she has ticked all of our boxes!!

Re: New home waiting!!!!!

With that amount going on in your house, I would suggest one of the retriever breeds, they are true family dogs

I agree, first thought to my mind when I read your post was a retriever, calm enough when you want them to be but fun and lively when you want to play!
