Re: Do dogs go to heaven?

well the bible is but a book written to keep people in order... there are many religions, christianity is but one... people are so conceited as to think humans are 'special' when of course they're not.. IF there are Gods then all creatures are special. I'm certainly not going anywhere my dogs aren't allowed - it wouldn't be 'heaven' for me, so I'm going where they are :-)

yes im with you!

i think the Native Americans had it right, they believed everything had a spirit not only animals but the earth and the water....so they respected their whole environment and cared for it, whereas the preachings of christianity has put us humans on a pedestal at the detriment of everything else

Re: Do dogs go to heaven?

Im not religious so dont believe in heaven or hell..

I think those we have loved and have loved us hold a special place in our memory and in choosing to hold them near even after they have physically left is more worthwhile than any mystical far away place..
The memories they leave with us give comfort and joy and that to me is a mark of the special place love has in our being.

Re: Do dogs go to heaven?

My take on heaven is that you will be eternally happy and if you need your pets for that surely they will be there - have to invisible though to those who dont like dogs

Funny story about an animal going to heaven - when my daughter was about 3 or 4 she came back from a walk with her father carrying a dead rabbit which she laid down in the garden. After about half an hour she had a look to see if it was there then strutted in as only little girls of that age can and announced that animals dont go to heaven as the rabbit was still in the garden

Re: Do dogs go to heaven?

In one of my weirder moments I have pondered that if there is indeed a heaven surely it is pretty full by now
