Re: Due in a week or so, found her tied to male

(in fact, I get more problems with my girls mounting each other) needless to say, they don't even try - once bitten, twice shy - boy oh boy do they learn quickly ![]() And even as novices, if introduced to an in season bitch who isn't ready for mating, they just walk away |

The OP's situation does sound most odd though. There is so much preparation for a litter, and particularly important with a breed known for whelping problems, that I would definitely want to know for sure not that scanning is easily available. Surely a scan cant be wrong at this late stage can it. Or could a single pup get missed, not sure. |

Re: Due in a week or so, found her tied to male
a friend of mine has had something like this happen, are you sure your girl is pregnant? my friend took her chi to the stud dog, had sucsessfull tie, at about 7 weeks along the bitch tied with friends dog, she took her to vets and the vet said she must have missed on first mating with arranged stud dog and had a silent season 7 weeks along, the tie with the dog at 7 weeks did produce a litter so i would say get your vet to scan her, if shes not in whelp to first mating you can get the missmate jab done to prevent pups from this tie x
