Smile Would like opinions please.......

Any views gratefully received, lol!

We are thinking of our breeding program in the future, and those of you who breed, know how hard this can be, to plan far ahead when things can change or go wrong, but I still think its good to have a fair idea of where you wanan go.

Right, our dilemma at the mo is, we plan to take a pup back from the bitch we sent to America in a couple of years time.

Now, we know we also need another bitch around the same time, a little later is fine, dont need them too close in age, but we dont wanna put off too long between these next two bitches. Now, its what to do about this second bitch - another bitch from the same litter is probably going to be bred from, do we take a bitch from this litter and have two 'cousins' or should we buy in?? There are 2 or 3 breeders I'd love to buy from (providing they'd have us of course, lol!) or I could go back to Cleos breeder and bring in another bitch with Cleo's lines.................

Re: Would like opinions please.......

My gut feeling would be go back to Cleo's breeder as long as that wouldn't give you too many expectations of getting another Cleo out of the deal.
But I think you are practical enough to not have any illusions about what to expect.
Good luck with whatever you decide

Yes, there are quite a lot of hopeful advantages to going back to Cleos line as this is the foundation on which my line is built and soon to disappear as the breeder of Cleos main line stopped breeding a few years back.

I wouldnt expect another Cleo, lol, something similar most likely Doing this way would hopefully give me chance to solidfy the good conformation points the line has, as I obviouslt dont wanna lose them.

Re: Would like opinions please.......

I know nothing about breeding.

But I would go and buy one that isnt from the same lines to diversify the gene pool.

I would suggest buying in if only to widen your choices later on when both of the new girls are old enough to breed from.... just my opinion, good luck whatever you decide
