Swarthy  I agree with you totally 
I was just saying that if I found myself with a "defective" (yes, horrible isn't it) puppy, in my present situation, I would keep it. Truth be told, Miss Piggy is now 11 and only ever presented us with two viable puppies (still borns & cleft palats) so it's hardly likely to be an issue for me 
I do understand about problems that arise later. My "keeper" from my second litter was diagnosed with cataracts at 18 months and then went on to develop sebaceous adenitis. We finally lost her 2 years ago, at 13.
