Nearly at wits end, advice please

My girl had pups 9 weeks ago and mum and pups doing very well, no probs there.

However, at the start of weaning, mum decided she would throw up her tea for the pups who dived in, as did mum . She continues to do this when prompted by pups licking her lips/face. 1 pup leaves on Sunday but the other is staying here, so any advice on how to stop this would be appreciated. I know there's the option of seperating them but would rather not as he is staying. As they are staying awake longer, the option to feed her when they are asleep is diminishing

This is natural behaviour and you're going to have to separate them at feeding time. Give mum time to digest away from the pup and feed him separately. If you don't separate for feeding, the cycle will continue.

Thanks, looks like it will just have to run its course with me trying my best. It's not that I haven't tried
When I made thread, late at night, she had just brought back food for 3rd time that evening. I feed separate and that night, had fed mum when pups were asleep. They woke 2 hours later and had their own food, assuming they had had their fill as they didn't clear the plate. They started licking Pearl's face about 3 hours after she had eaten and up it came

Re: Nearly at wits end, advice please

My bitch regurgitates for her pups. She sees them being fed, and I can keep her away for a good hour and she will still do it.
I always end up feeding her twice. One lot she gives to the pups, the second meal she keeps. The pup we kept from her last litter is 18 months and the feeding slowly grew less often, and I have no doubt this will happen again as and when she is happy to do so.

She has still been known to make her eldest daughter wee though

Earth mothers, who'd have 'em eh?
