Re: Tragic story :(

Poor little pup! Why was he left loose with an older dog - surely a new pup should be kept seperate when not supervised? I think you're right not letting her have one of your pups next year - hopefully she has learnt the hard way and will not replace him?!

Awwww R.I.P Sam, why is this breeder still breeding? Poor puppies and poor people who buy from him, end of the day not everyone wants a pedigree dog so I can understand some people buying from pet breeders (its just sad that this breeder dosent put the health of his dogs/puppies 1st it seems. Regardless of paperwork, Heath and Temperament should be thought of I could never live with myself if I had knowingly bred any sick animal

So very sad and so avoidable. Yet another animal let down by humans!

Run free at the bridge little Sam where your other sibling will be waiting for you

Re: Tragic story :(

I can see why that is a little upsetting. Not sure how I would feel, on the one hand it makes me angry that she rushed into buying the pup without researching, but on the other hand the poor pup is suffering I feel bad for them both

Not only is he still breeding, I have found out that both parents (same dog & bitch that produced Sam's litter) are under 2 years old, the bitch is in whelp AGAIN (Sam was only 14 weeks old!) & both are kept permanently outdoors. He insists there is nothing wrong with his dogs, how does he know when they are barely more than pups themselves, have had no health tests & are kept outside unsupervised? Either of them could have had a seizure & he may not have seen it. I was talking to the receptionist at my vet's tonight when I took Tex in, she was horrified & is adamant that he should be reported but I don't know what to do. My friend won't report him as she is scared of reprisals. This whole horrible thing has made me so sad

I agree with you this is sickening he cant be sure of their health if they are kept outdoors, Surely if he was a caring person he would not breed the bitch back to back and also when he found out about sam he should have taken steps to prevent any more puppies being born with such a horrible illness i.e Neuter both dogs and also inform anyother owners of sams siblings so they can watch them
