I know and its such ashame for the dogs i know its nature but its sometimes in the dogs interest to intervene as i originally stated 'all comments whill be taken into considerstion' and i stand by that 100% as i believe that you need to give a massive disision like letting your dog have litter alot of thought as its potentionaly your dogs life youre taking a gamble on and youve got to think is my dogs life worth chancing for a litter of pups i know i would put my existing dogs lifes and welfare before those of a litter of puppies but obviously theres people who would put a litter of pups before the mothers life as the puppies will make them some money sad but true if only all dog owners were on the same wave length as you and me.

There seems to be a distinct lack of photos in this thread!

Re: Breeding from my patterdale......

I'm glad to hear your decision.

I love reading breeding threads and I love puppy pics (especially when they're so wee and new to the world). But even if I had the purest bred pedigree dog with the best of health and bloodlines I would never ever make her have puppies. It's an emotional need for us humans, but just a biological one for dogs and when you breed them it's not their choice on who they'd like to have a romantic encounter with.

Kind of like how I truly love children and I love music, but when I volunteered at the school this past Wednesday and they needed me to stay for music class my ears were practically bleeding and I wanted to yell at the kids who were going wild. And realized that I could never ever be a music teacher.
