I am surprised you did not check on the KC site?

Re: BVA Hip Scoring
I sent a cheque to the BVA for £45 when Marty was scored in June 2008 and the same for Flynn in May 2010. Should think it would go up just like everything does with inflation.

Re: BVA Hip Scoring
With Flynn my vet tried to stitch me up for £100
so I phoned the BVA who in turn phoned him and said he'd got the price wrong Imagine that, £100 just to score a set of x rays, lol! ![]()

Re: BVA Hip Scoring
I don't know how much pressure they are under to get through plates atm, but hopefully, with more and more people utilising the scheme for their dogs, perhaps the price may eventually come down (vain hope I know).
Just as an aside, I paid for my bitch to be tested for gPRA although I know she's clear, but wanted it to be on the KC paperwork for pups if I do go ahead with a mating, so there's another £50 just to prove what I already know. |

when I had my eldest girl done 6 years ago, the results took a couple of months to come back, and hips and elbows came back separately When I had my two girls done at the start of this year - I had the results back within a week - it was unbelievable - and they were on the database the day after scoring ![]() I would assume there will be costs associated with panels sitting. To the OP - if it's any consolation - two sets of hips and elbows to the BVA set me back £180 - the cost of getting the plates done cost me £500 - and I had nearly a four hour round trip to get them done (plus 3/4 of a day loss of earnings as I work for myself). Only a few months before that I had my boy done, and have to confess I too was surprised at how much the fees had gone up (some was attributed to the VAT change, but not all of it). Like others - there's absolutely no point in me checking the BVA website for prices because quite simply, when they have to be done, they have to be done. I am so glad I saw this thread though because now I will try and squeeze my baby boy in for his hips and elbows this side of Christmas to ward off another price increase - no more babies coming up the ranks after that to test for the time being ![]() |

Re: BVA Hip Scoring
When I had my dogs hips and elbow scored I still looked at the KC website to check the cost, the same way as check the prices of anything I buy!
The fact that there is no other provider and the cost is non negotiable is neither here nor there. I like to be prepared for the costs and of course knowing the price means I do not get stitched up! ![]() |
