Can I ask to meet the Sire?

Have got in contact with a Golden Retriever breeder today and have been sent a link to the Sire's website - would it be ok to get in touch with the owners of the sire and ask if I can meet him? They don't live far from me.

Re: Can I ask to meet the Sire?

Of course Any reputable breeder would be pleased to have the chance to show off their dogs and love nothing more then an excuse to talk about their breed

Re: Can I ask to meet the Sire?

Absolutely! The sire of my pup's owner was delighted to be able to show off her dog to us, it was lovely for us all to meet when we were thinking of getting him, we also went back to take him over to say goodbye to her when we picked him up and we are still in touch with her as much as with the breeder.

Re: Can I ask to meet the Sire?

yep totally agree, I like it if I get interest about my boy after he has sired a litter. It shows me that the new owners are resposible and interested in the breed, not just there to buy a puppy! not sure others will agree with that, but I have information and pictures of him all through his life from 4 weeks old and show them all this aswell as meeting him in the flesh. Some people are actually shocked when they see him as he is a big boy (still within standard though) and it also shows new owners the size that a male can grow to if they are new to the breed
